about
onlygoodmovies.com
Only
Good Movies was first established in 1999 with the following
in mind: people want to read about and purchase good
movies, not bad ones. We cut through all the junk
out there and only review good films.
We
currently have several hundred titles in our Good Movies
database. All are separated into one of four genres,
Action/Adventure, Comedy, Drama and Science
Fiction. You can browse through these categories
or use our search
feature to find a title or actor you're looking for.
We're adding about two new titles per week to our database.
Buying
Movies From Us
After
previewing the services of many online movie sales outlets,
Only Good Movies has decided to partner with amazon.com.
It is our considered opinion that amazon.com offers
the widest selection of DVD and VHS titles at competitive
prices while offering superior customer service. Only
Good Movies does not stock and ship movies ourselves.
To purchase DVDs or VHS from our site, you'll need to
establish an account with amazon.com. click
here to set up an account now. Each
movie review we post includes a link to amazon.com's
item page for that title.

Our
Reviews and Ratings
Only
Good Movies reviews and ratings exist on a sliding scale,
meaning we consider the genre of the film, compare it
to similar films, as well as considering the overall
movie experience of the film. As an example: The Shawshank
Redemption (Drama, 4 3/4 stars) may be a better movie
than Arthur (Comedy, 5 stars). But Arthur is as good
as a comedy gets, so it receives the highest rating.
This is how we justify giving 10 Ten Things I Hate About
You three stars. (For the sake of everyone's sanity,
no comparison need be made between this film and The
Shawshank Redemption.)
Here's
a handy guide to our star rating system:
Near Perfect |
High Quality |
Flawless |

Superior |
Good |
Excellent |
A Decent Effort |
Highly Recommended |

Very Good |

Because
we post reviews of only good movies, you won't see any
films with a rating lower than 2 1/2
stars. You will also come across this .
This stamp symbolizes a film we feel, regardless of its
star rating, has a little something extra that should
appeal to our visitors.
Thanks for visiting!
