Movie Review
top pick The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
of 5

The final installment in the Lord of the Rings finds Frodo and Sam still heading toward Mount Doom in an effort to destroy the Ring; while Gandalf, Aragon and the others make a last stand against the the evil hordes bent on destroying Men.

The most visually appealing of the three films for certain. Wondrous special effects including monstrous armies numbering in the tens-of-thousands, fantastic creatures and beasts of burden and gripping battle sequences. The cinematography too, is better than the past films. These visuals alone would surely be enough to please most viewers but along with visual splendor comes some really satisfying character growth. Frodo, Aragon and especially Sam show full character compliance. This is achieved greatly through J.R.R. Tolkien's wonderful writing but also through some very impressive screen performances.

The story comes to a nicely packaged conclusion in Return of the King. And it is wrapped in fine direction, nice acting, a masterful script and grand visuals. What more could you ask out of a film?

Winner of a host of Oscars including Best Picture.
