A
resurging Nazi group obtains a nuclear
bomb and plans to use it to get the U.S.
and Russia to go to war.
A
plot that seems overwhelmingly complicated
early on eventually settles in well enough
for the average guy to grasp the important
particulars. A steady increase in tension
and pace drive the film. The script is
so-so, feating some good and not-so-good
dialogue.
I
was left a bit turned off by what I consider
a grand continuity miscue
surrounding the Jack Ryan character.
How can he be 26ish in 2002 when he was
45ish in Clear and Present Danger in
1994?
Largely
a successful feature but not on the top
self of action/suspense flicks.
Directed
by Phil Alden Robinson.
