Set one year after we last left Pie, AP2 sees the entire cast return for more laughs when the guys rent a lakeside house for the summer after their freshman year of college.
Nearly as funny as the first film, but held back a bit by spotty plot elements. The jokes are of the same ilk we've come to expect from our Pie friends and there's at least two very funny scenes. It's obvious, however, that some returning characters had to be shoehorned into the script. The general rule on this is: the bigger movie star you've become since the first Pie, the less your character matters to American Pie 2.
Of course you're coming for the laughs, but there's a theme to the story that the good times of your youth don't last forever. This is both helpful and heartbreaking if you're over 25.
