A millionaire drunk playboy is being forced to marry a boring Long Island socialite or his family will withhold from him the sum of $750 million. Arthur plans on going ahead with it until something unplanned happens—he falls in love with a woman whom he witnesses stealing a tie. But he'll have to battle his family, his conscience and a very angry would-be father-in-law if he wants to marry for love.

Nominated for multiple Oscars including Best Screenplay and Best Actor, and winning Best Supporting Actor (Gielgud) and Best Song (Christopher Cross); Arthur could be the funniest movie ever. Moore is hilarious, Minnelli is charming, but it is Gielgud who steals the show as Arthur's sarcastic manservant, Hobson.

The laughs never stop in this film, it is a real winner that you'll want to watch over and over.

Directed by Steven E. Gordon.
