A middle age screenwriter is losing his creative edge and seeks out the inspirations of a demanding modern-day muse to help him regain his form.

Stone gives a great performance here and Brooks fans should find a lot to like in this enjoyable, but not a hilarious, comedy. A nice ironic tale that warrants a look.

Look for cameos by Steven Wright, James Cameron, Martin Scorsese, and Rob Reiner.
