Detective Alex Cross returns in this prequel to Kiss the Girls. Based on the novels of James Patterson, Cross must locate the kidnapped daughter of a US Senator. But the culprits may not be what they seem.

Another good effort here. Freeman, again, gives a fine performance in a script that develops well; with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. Monica Potter seems a bit miscast as a Secret Service Agent, but that's a relatively small point. Along Came a Spider should please fans of crime drama and those who loved Kiss the Girls, too.
