Murder By Numbers
of 5

Two bored rich kids plan the perfect murder.

Sandra Bullock is very likable. Here she plays a homicide detective who isn't all that likable and she does so rather well. I liked this movie, it was good to see Bullock in a bit of a different role and there's two somewhat interesting teens as the bad guys. Each boy forms a separate relationship will Bullock and the police, that is interesting to watch develop. I was a little curious about the relationship between the two boys. There are definite references to them being lovers, but it is never stated either way.

The boys (Gosling & Pitt) perform well, but I felt their personas were a little off. The quiet, brilliant kid was a little too cryptic. The popular "lady's man" was a little too goofy.

It is a less than suspenseful movie but a good story. I found the supporting characters useful and Bullock's lead is well formed and performed.

Directed by Barbet Schroeder.
