A young boy in Las Vegas is inspired to change the world by getting strangers to perform acts of kindness.
Critics were mixed, but audiences seemed to enjoy the feel good tempo and originality in Pay It Forward. All actors seem to be well cast and in their own comfort zones. A better than average (but less than brilliant) script paces the drama. Largely suitable for the whole family, Pay It Forward at its best is an inspirational, well-made drama; and at its worst is a sappy, offbeat melodrama. But this, perhaps more than most films, is a very subjective movie.
Directed by Mimi Leder.
