Every actor in this film gives a truly wonderful performance but Liam Neeson and Tim Roth deserve special notes for their work. Roth, as the scheming villainous nobleman, marks one of the most memorable character portrayals of the decade and Neeson steps up as the multifaceted title character.Similar to Braveheart, in many respects, Rob Roy may not be as powerful or moving as the latter film, but it has enough working for it that it becomes a pleasing and powerful motion picture in its own right.Directed by Michael Caton-Jones.
