A slowwitted man begins a friendship with a troubled young boy.

Acclaimed for great performances and rich characterizations, Sling Blade was a much talked about picture and one of the best of the year. Thorton, is wonderful in a film he also directs. Strong performances also from Yoakam, Ritter and young Lucas Black. A moving, intelligent film that should become a favorite among 90's dramas.
