Kidman plays author Virginia Woolf as she writes the novel Mrs. Dalloway. Her life and the lives of two future women unfold in conjunction with the theme of the novel.
Not the feel-good movie of the year for certain. Critics ate up the creative symbolism and fine acting performances. The film is rich in great performances, Kidman won a Best Actress Oscar for her role as Virginia Woolf and Ed Harris also deserves much praise for his portrayal of a dying poet.
An insightful and heavy drama that should not disappoint anyone who calls themselves a movie fan.
Directed by Stephen Daldry.
